Nesta semana cinematográfica, o destaque vai para a estreia do thriller baseado em acontecimentos reais “127 Horas”, que nos conta a história do montanhista Aron Ralston (James Franco) que durante uma escalada ficou preso numa rocha e teve que amputar o próprio braço para sobreviver.

Estreia ainda o drama “Blue Valentine – Só Tu e Eu”, que marcou presença em vários prestigiados festivais de Cinema; a comédia “O Dilema”, que segue a vida dois melhores amigos e sócios (Kevin James e Vince Vaughn) que tem uma excelente hipótese de serem bem sucedidos num negócio; e por fim “Somewhere”, o novo projecto da argumentista e realizadora Sofia Coppola."

Os Madredeus são um dos grupos musicais portugueses de maior projecção mundial. A sua música combina influências da música tradicional portuguesa com a música erudita e com a música popular contemporânea.
A musicalidade do grupo sempre foi erroneamente referida como fado, género musical português mais conhecido internacionalmente, sobretudo pela imprensa fora de Portugal. O grupo nunca se descreveu desta forma, ainda que declarasse existir uma aproximação ao “espírito musical” do fado.
Nos seus vinte anos de carreira, os Madredeus lançaram 14 álbuns e estiveram em turné em 41 países – incluindo a Coreia do Norte e um festival de música na Noruega, dentro do Círculo Polar Árctico.
Os Madredeus são um dos grupos musicais portugueses de maior projecção mundial. The 2011 Grammy Nominations

Grammy AwardsThe principal 2011 Grammy nominees were announced on the Grammy Nominations Concert Live telecast (with the rest of the categories revealed after the program), and Eminem seems to be in full “recovery” as he dominates this year with a total of 10 nods (including biggies Song, Record, Album and Rap Album Of The Year).
Bruno Mars scored seven nominations, for his featured vocals on B.o.B’s “Nothin’ On You”, writing credit on Cee Lo Green’s “F**k You”, his own hit “Just The Way You Are” and also Producer Of The Year (as part of the Smeezingtons). Just behind him are this year’s six-time nominees Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga and Jay-Z.
Kudos also to La RouxRobyn and Goldfrapp, for at least being recognized in the Dance categories, and Adam Lambert, for his Best Male Pop Vocal Performance nod. Check the list of 2011 Grammy nominees below and let us know which of these surprised you the most.

With 11 nominations, Xavier Beauvois’s Of Gods and Men [trailerfilm focus] dominates the list of nominees for the 2011 Césars, to be awarded on February 25.

Next in line are Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer [trailer] and Joann Sfar’s Je T’Aime, Moi Non Plus [trailer] with eight nominations each; Mathieu Amalric’s On Tour [trailerfilm focus] (seven nominations); and Pascal Chaumeil’s Heartbreaker [trailer] (five nominations). These five features will vie for the Best Film César, alongside Michel Leclerc’s The Names of Love [trailer] (four nominations in total) and Benoît Delépine andGustave Kervern’s Mammuth [trailerfilm focus] (three nominations).

There are also six nominations (mainly in the technical categories) for Bertrand Tavernier’s The Princess of Montpensier [trailer], four for François Ozon’s Potiche [trailer] and three for Olivier Assayas’s Carlos [trailer], Julie Bertuccelli’s The Tree [trailerfilm focus], Bertrand Blier’s The Clink Of Ice [trailer] and Géraldine Nakache and Hervé Mimran’s All That Glitters [trailer].

Nominated 15 times before and crowned twice in 1981 and 1991, Gérard Depardieu (Mammuth) will compete for the 2011 Best Actor César against four thesps who have never won before: Romain Duris (Heartbreaker),Eric Elmosnino (Je T’Aime, Moi Non Plus), Jacques Gamblin (The Names of Love) and Lambert Wilson (Of Gods and Men).

Battling it out for Best Actress are two previous winners: Catherine Deneuve (Potiche) was crowned in 1981 and 1993, while Isabelle Carré (Romantics Anonymous [trailer]) won in 2003 before being nominated in 2004, 2006 and 2008. Other nominees are Sara Forestier (The Names of Love), Charlotte Gainsbourg (The Tree) and Kristin Scott Thomas (Her Name Was Sarah), who was nominated but didn’t win in 2009 and 2010.

Finally, Olivier Masset-Depasse’s Belgian film Illegal [trailerfilm focus] is among the contenders for the Best Foreign Film César.
